Overview
Francesca Gostinelli was appointed Head of Enel X Global Retail at the end of October 2023.
Prior to this role, she had been in charge of Group Strategy, Economics and Scenario Planning at Enel since 2016. She led the Global Generation Business Development Unit from 2014 to 2016, after spending four years as Head of BD and Operations Support in the International Division. Previously, she was Head of International Regulation at Enel from 2007 to 2010, and led Italian Regulatory Affairs & Sustainability at Endesa Italy from 2002 to 2007. At the beginning of her career, she worked as a trader, researcher and renewable projects specialist.
She is currently on the board of directors at Enel Americas and Endesa. Over the years, she has been a member of the board in various Enel companies, including Enel Green Power S.p.A. She has been part of external advisory councils (i.e. TCFD, Florence School of Regulation) and steering committees (i.e. Energy Solutions at WBCSD, Energy Commission in Confindustria) on matters related to energy, sustainability and climate change. She is active in the Chief Strategy Officers community at the World Economic Forum.
She graduated in Environmental Engineering in 1997, and received a master’s degree in Management and Economics of Energy and Environment in 1999 at Scuola Superiore Enrico Mattei, and has attended Executive Education courses at INSEAD, Harvard Business School and Bocconi. She is a Fellow of the German Marshall Fund. Francesca is married with two children and enjoys dedicating time to alumni associations: GMF, INSEAD and Scuola Mattei. She is also active in mentorship programs dedicated to the growth and support of new generations of managers.
