Overview
Giulia Genuardi is Managing Director of Enel Foundation, after having served as Enel Group’s Head of Sustainability.
She joined the Enel Group in 2003 as part of the internal auditing team, covering a wide range of roles. From 2008 to 2013, she was Secretary to the Enel SpA Supervision Council pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/01 and from 2011 to 2013 she was Compliance Officer ex Legislative Decree 231/01 in various Enel companies. From 2013 to 2024 she led Sustainability activities at Enel Groups, responsible for embedding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues into business management and financial instruments through the definition of the sustainability strategy and management of sustainability projects. She has been a board member at Enel Americas (Chile), energy company in four South American countries.
Starting from 2019, she was a member of various working groups at EFRAG (European Financial Reporting Advisory Group) in Belgium and in May 2022 she was appointed member of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Technical Expert Group. In September 2020, she was named member of the Global Sustainability Standards Board at GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), in 2023 member of the OIC (Organismo Italiano Contabilità) Committee for sustainability standards and in 2024 member of the EU Sustainable Finance Platform. She is active in external advisory councils, working groups and steering committees (i.e. Global Compact, WBCSD, Ambrosetti, CSR Europe) on matters related to sustainability (i.e. climate change, human rights, diversity, nature).
She graduated in Economics from the University of Palermo (Italy), and received a master’s degree in Administration, Finance and Control from Luiss Management, and has attended education courses at IESE Business School and Bocconi. She is Professor of Corporate Social Responsibility - Master’s Degree in Marketing & Digital Communication at LUMSA, Libera Università degli Studi Maria Ss. Assunta (Italy).
