Overview
Laura Cozzi has been the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Director of Sustainability, Technology, and Outlooks since 2023, overseeing the Agency’s work on energy sustainability, technology policy, and climate change. She also serves as the IEA’s Chief Energy Modeller, co-leading the World Energy Outlook, the Agency’s flagship publication series.
In recognition of her contributions to the energy sector, Ms. Cozzi was awarded the Cavaliere dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana in 2025. She was also elected as a member of the National Academy of Technologies of France and received an Honorary Doctorate from Sweden’s KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2024.
Ms. Cozzi joined the IEA in 1999 as a junior analyst in the World Energy Outlook team, later co-leading multiple editions and special reports. Before joining the IEA, she worked for the Italian energy company ENI S.p.A.
She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a Master’s in Energy and Environmental Economics from Eni Corporate University.
