Maria Lelli

Overview

Maria holds an advanced master’s degree in European Interdisciplinary Studies from the College of Europe in Natolin (Warsaw), where she followed a multidisciplinary study program on European Union energy policy and governance, focusing on its internal and external dimensions. In June 2020, the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair of the College of Europe awarded her master’s thesis on the topic of the Energy Community.

Prior to her College of Europe’s experience, Maria earned a master’s degree summa cum laude in International Studies with a specialization in Geopolitics from the University of Pisa. In addition, thanks to an Erasmus Mundus scholarship, Maria studied for six months at the Universidad Nacional de Asunción in Paraguay.

In parallel with her studies, in 2018 she interned first at the Consulate General of Italy in New York and then at the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels, where she carried out research for the Environment, Climate Change and Energy (ENVE) Commission. Here, Maria could work closely with representatives of regional and local authorities, spokespersons for the main energy and environmental problems at territorial level.

Maria joined Enel Foundation as a Senior Research Intern in January 2021 and brings her knowledge of international relations and European Union energy policy.
